大三坂

昔、坂の入口に大三という家印の郷宿（ゴウヤド）があったのでこの名が付いた。郷宿というのは、地方から公用で出てくる村民が泊まった宿である。それ以前は、木下という人の家があったので、「木下の坂」といった。昭和62年「日本の道百選」に選ばれた。

DAISAN ZAKA SLOPE
Long ago,at the base of this slope,there was a goyado （inn） called “Daisan”,which was the name of a family crest.The inn served local villagers who came to the city on official business.Earlier,a house named KINOSHITA was there,and this slope had been called “Kinoshita’s Slope.” In 1987 this slope was designated as one of the “Hundred Representative Roads of Japan.”
